A Wholly Subjective Introduction to Tokyo's Culinary Delights

Tsunahachi is an old chain of very good tenpura restaurants, and as a matter of fact I ate tenpura for the first time in 1982 at the old Shinjuku Honten, still one of the best in terms of atmosphere. When I have guests from abroad and I want them to have a good Japanese meal, I usually bring them here, because success is guaranteed.

Tsunahachi Rin at Shinjuku LUMINE EST
Over 80 years of tradition in the heart of Shinjuku, at Rin, you can enjoy various Tempura dishes in the Tsunahachi style. Let alone the Tempura dishes themselves, our expertise extends to the dip sauces and salt that are important, but oftenly overseen, to enjoy this delicate food. The side dishes that go along well with Sake are also our specialities. And, to add on, we boast a wide selection of Sake mainly focusing on those that are best served at a rather luke-warm temperature which will allow you to slowly and carefuly enjoy the real taste and aroma of Sake.
